Staying on the Red Sea

The best day of your Hurghada holiday isn't in Hurghada

Two hours inland, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak and the Nile are waiting — and a trusted local can hand you the whole day, door to door, with none of the 3am-coach misery.

The day everyone remembers

Hurghada → Luxor, done the way it should be

The cheap coach trip leaves at 3am, packs forty strangers in, and gives you forty minutes at Karnak with a flag in the air. We do the opposite: a private car from your hotel, your own Egyptologist, the sites timed against the crowds, and the Nile at golden hour before you head back. It's the one thing a Red Sea guest can do that turns a beach holiday into the trip they talk about for years.

Things to do in Hurghada

Honest notes on the resort itself

Hurghada is a base, not a destination — and that's fine. Here's what's genuinely worth your time between sea days, from people who live here.

On the water

The reefs are the real reason to be here. A private boat to Giftun Island or the smaller reefs beats any crowded group excursion — you set the pace, you pick where to swim.

For families

Calm, shallow bays and short private boat trips work best with children. We keep days flexible so nobody's stuck on someone else's timetable.

Best time to visit

The Red Sea is good year-round; spring and autumn are the sweet spot for both sea and the inland day trips, before the summer heat makes Luxor hard work.

In the evening

The marina is the pleasant end of town for dinner. Beyond that, the best evenings we arrange are quiet ones — and the early night before a dawn start in Luxor.

Good to know

Hurghada → Luxor, answered

Is it really worth it over the €40 coach trip?+
The coach saves money and costs you the day — a 3am start, nine hours on a bus, and forty minutes per site in a crowd. Private means a later start, your own expert, and the sites when they're empty. Almost every guest tells us it was the best day of their holiday.
How long is the day?+
Plan on a full day, door to door — roughly 4–5 hours each way by private car, with the middle of the day at the sites, timed for the best light rather than the midday heat.
Do you collect us from our hotel?+
Yes — private pickup and drop-off at your hotel or the marina, anywhere in the Hurghada area.
Can we add the balloon or a night in Luxor?+
Absolutely — add a sunrise balloon, or stretch it into two days with a night in Luxor. Build it in the day planner and we'll arrange it.
