Your own boat takes you out when the morning sea is calm, no shared decks and no timetable. The skipper knows the reef worth the swim, the gear and the drinks are aboard, and you stay as long as you like.

The reef is worth it. The crowd isn't.

The Red Sea deserves its reputation. The water is clear in a way that doesn't quite photograph, the coral is alive and close to the surface, and the fish don't seem to mind you. What gets in the way is almost never the sea — it's the way most trips sell it: a hundred and twenty people on a party boat, one snorkel stop on a stopwatch, a queue for the ladder and a scramble for a spot in the water. You came to float over a reef, and you spend the day managing other people's schedules.

Take the boat privately and the whole thing inverts. It becomes your day on your water.

A boat that bends to you

Private here means exactly that: your own vessel, your own skipper, and a day with no fixed itinerary but yours. You decide which reefs, how long you stay in the water, when you want lunch, whether you'd rather chase the best coral or find the calmest, emptiest bay and just drift. The skipper knows which spots are sheltered and quiet on the day's wind, and he takes you there — not to whichever mooring the big operators have block-booked.

There's no scrum for the ladder because there's no crowd. You get in the water where the fish actually are, and you get out when you're ready.

The sea was never the problem. It was always the two hundred other people the ticket came with.

Handled, so the day is just the water

Hotel or marina pickup, the boat readied and fuelled, gear aboard, lunch cooking, and your concierge on the phone if you need anything at all. You bring a towel and a rough idea of the kind of day you're after — lively and reef-hopping, or slow and sun-drenched — and we build the rest around it.

It's the simplest luxury on the coast: the whole Red Sea, for a day, with nobody else's timetable laid over the top of it.

The whole reef, and the whole day, with no one else's timetable on it.

What you'll experience

A boat that's actually yours

Not a hundred-person party ferry — your own vessel for your group. You choose which reefs, how long you swim, where you have lunch. The day bends to you.

The Red Sea's headline reefs

Giftun and Orange Bay and the quieter coral in between — some of the clearest water and most alive reef in the world, a short run from the marina.

Snorkelling, not a scrum

Gear aboard, a skipper who knows which spots are calm and empty that day, and no queue for the ladder. Get in the water where the fish actually are.

Handled, from lobby to ladder

Hotel or marina pickup, the boat readied, lunch aboard, and your concierge reachable all day. You bring a towel and a sense of where you'd like to be.

What is a Luxor Rising concierge?

Not a guide with a flag and a script. A concierge is one trusted person who understands where you are in your own journey, shares the road with you, and quietly arranges every last detail — the car, the tickets, the right hour, the doors — so all you have to do is be present. You manage nothing. You just flow.

A guide who understands your journey

Someone who listens first — who grasps what this trip really means to you — and then reads three thousand years in a way that speaks to it. Never a memorised tour repeated to everyone.

A companion who shares the road

A real person who knows your name, is on WhatsApp before you arrive and beside you through every day. Someone — never a call centre or a voucher.

Everything arranged, so you just flow

Cars, tickets, timing, translation, the quiet hour ahead of the crowds, and the doors that never open for a coach — all handled invisibly. You never touch a single logistic.

"We've done the big-bus version of Egypt before. This wasn't that. We had Medinet Habu almost to ourselves for the first hour, coffee in hand, and Ahmed knew exactly which wall to stand us in front of as the light came up. I didn't want to leave."

"What sold us afterwards was everything we never had to think about — no tickets, no tipping at gates, no wondering if we were being overcharged. Someone we trusted just handled the whole day. The photos he took on my own phone are the ones now framed at home."
Priya R., London
★★★★★
"I was worried it would feel like a rushed history lesson. It was the opposite — unhurried, personal, and our Egyptologist answered questions for as long as we had them. Worth every euro, and I'm not someone who says that lightly."

Questions, answered

How much is a private boat in Hurghada?+
Our private half-day boat is from €220 for the whole vessel — your group only, with skipper, snorkelling gear, lunch and hotel pickup arranged. Shared island trips sell for €45–50 a head, but you're one of a hundred on a fixed timetable. Private means your reefs, your pace, and a boat that waits for you.
Which reefs or islands do we go to?+
Your choice, guided by the skipper and the conditions — Giftun, Orange Bay, Paradise, or the quieter coral in between. On the day he'll steer you toward whichever is calmest and least crowded.
Is it good for families or non-swimmers?+
Yes — the private format means a gentle pace, shallow calm spots for children, and no pressure. Buoyancy vests are aboard, and you can stay on deck and just enjoy the water and the sun if you prefer.
Half day or full day?+
Either. A half day is plenty for a couple of reefs and lunch; a full day lets you range further and linger. Tell us and we'll price it accordingly.
We're in Luxor, not on the coast — can we still do this?+
This one runs from the Red Sea coast (Hurghada). If you're inland in Luxor, the felucca on the Nile is the water day we'd arrange for you — and if you're on the coast, the reverse: ask us about a private day trip inland to Luxor.
