Private dinner cruise · The Nile at Luxor · A single experience

Dinner on the Nile, and the whole table is yours.

The river at night, the city lights laid out on the water, and a table set just for your group as Luxor drifts past on both banks. A private dinner cruise on the Nile — the food, the boat and the golden hour arranged, and not a single shared table in sight.

You cast off as the light turns, and the whole table is yours, with Luxor lit along the banks. Dinner is arranged to your taste, the boat is yours for the evening, and nobody moves you along.

The night the river hands the day back to you.

Luxor asks a lot of you by daylight. It's magnificent and it's relentless — the heat, the scale, the sheer accumulated weight of three thousand years, all demanding to be understood before lunch. And then the sun goes down, and the river offers you the antidote: a table on the water, dinner brought to you, and the whole city softening into lights and reflections as you drift.

There is a version of this sold cheap and loud — a floating banquet hall for three hundred, a buffet and a belly-dancer and a bus back at ten. This is the quiet opposite of that.

Your table, your pace, your river

Private here means the evening is yours. Your own table on the deck, dinner served rather than queued for, and no timetable but the slow one the current sets. You talk, you eat, you watch — the East Bank temples floodlit and doubled in the black water, the Corniche lit up, the odd felucca crossing your bow with its sail catching the last of the light.

We put you on the water at the right hour on purpose: golden hour first, when the river turns molten and the sails around you glow, and then the long, easy fade into a lit-up evening. By the second course the day has stopped pulling at you. By the far bank you've forgotten you were ever tired.

The temples make you feel the weight of history. The river, at night, quietly hands the evening back to you.

Handled, so dinner is just dinner

Pickup from your hotel, the boat readied, the table set, the food arranged around whatever you like, and your concierge on the phone if anything's needed. You arrive, you sit, you're looked after — the rarest thing on a busy trip.

Bring it to the end of a full day, or an evening that matters. In a country of grand, demanding wonders, a private table on the Nile at night is the one that simply lets you exhale.

Somewhere between the second course and the far bank, the whole day finally lets go of you.

On the day

What you'll experience

A table on the river, just yours

No buffet with three hundred strangers and a floor show. A quiet private table on the deck, the food brought to you, and the whole slow theatre of the Nile at night for a backdrop.

Luxor, lit and reflected

The temples floodlit on the East Bank, the Corniche strung with lights, and all of it doubled in the black water as you drift past. It's the most flattering hour the city has.

Golden hour, then the lights

We time you onto the water as the sun drops, so you catch the river turning gold, then the slow fade to dusk and the first lights coming on along both banks.

Handled, from your lobby to the last course

Pickup, the boat readied, the table set, dinner arranged, and your concierge reachable throughout. You bring an appetite and someone to share it with.

The person at the heart of it
The person at the heart of it

What is a Luxor Rising concierge?

Not a guide with a flag and a script. A concierge is one trusted person who understands where you are in your own journey, shares the road with you, and quietly arranges every last detail — the car, the tickets, the right hour, the doors — so all you have to do is be present. You manage nothing. You just flow.

A guide who understands your journey

Someone who listens first — who grasps what this trip really means to you — and then reads three thousand years in a way that speaks to it. Never a memorised tour repeated to everyone.

A companion who shares the road

A real person who knows your name, is on WhatsApp before you arrive and beside you through every day. Someone — never a call centre or a voucher.

Everything arranged, so you just flow

Cars, tickets, timing, translation, the quiet hour ahead of the crowds, and the doors that never open for a coach — all handled invisibly. You never touch a single logistic.

"We've done the big-bus version of Egypt before. This wasn't that. We had Medinet Habu almost to ourselves for the first hour, coffee in hand, and Ahmed knew exactly which wall to stand us in front of as the light came up. I didn't want to leave."
Lena & Tomáš, Vienna

"What sold us afterwards was everything we never had to think about — no tickets, no tipping at gates, no wondering if we were being overcharged. Someone we trusted just handled the whole day. The photos he took on my own phone are the ones now framed at home."
Priya R., London
★★★★★
"I was worried it would feel like a rushed history lesson. It was the opposite — unhurried, personal, and our Egyptologist answered questions for as long as we had them. Worth every euro, and I'm not someone who says that lightly."

Good to know

Questions, answered

How much is a private Nile dinner cruise in Luxor?+
Our private dinner cruise is from €180 — a table for your group only, dinner aboard, hotel pickup and all the arranging. The big group dinner boats sell tickets for less, but you're one of hundreds with a shared buffet and a loud show. Private means your table, your pace, and the river to look at instead of a stage.
How is this different from a felucca sail?+
The felucca is a daytime-into-sunset sail — no engine, just the wind and the quiet. The dinner cruise is an evening on a larger boat with a proper meal and the illuminated city at night. Some guests do both across a trip; if you only pick one, the felucca is the pure sail and the cruise is the dinner-with-a-view.
What's the food like?+
A proper sit-down dinner rather than a canteen line — we can tailor it to preferences and dietary needs if you tell us in advance. Tell us it's a special occasion and we'll set the table accordingly.
How long is it?+
Around two hours on the water, timed to run from golden hour into the lit evening. It makes a perfect finish to a day of temples, or a relaxed night on its own.
Is it good for a celebration?+
Very — an anniversary, a birthday, or simply a memorable last night in Luxor. A private table on the Nile at night is hard to beat. Let us know the occasion and we'll add a few touches.
